Chris Nelson has been tapped to direct the indie “Liv,” which has also been picked up for distribution by Black Label Media.
Hilary Swank’s 2S Films had been developing the project, and Swank will remain on as a producer for the film. Black Label Media partners Molly Smith and Trent and Thad Luckinbill are producing.
Story revolves around a 26-year-old visionary who becomes an overnight sensation when she’s handed her dream job as the editor — and face — of a multiplatform media experiment. As she begins to lose hold of her image and her magazine, she has to decide how much she’s willing to sacrifice for success.
Pic is based on the book by Karen Yampolsky, which was inspired by the life of legendary magazine editor Jane Pratt. Ellen Shanman will pen the adapted screenplay.
