Hilary will be on Oprah this month if anyone knows when exactly she will be please let us know so we can record it for teh site.
She’s best known for the rough and tough characters she played in 1999’s Boys Don’t Cry and 2004’s Million Dollar Baby.
Who knew that in real life, two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank is the antithesis of a tomboy?
“It’s true. All those characters I’m well known for aren’t as girlie-girl as I am,” says Swank, 33. “It’s fun to dress up and smell pretty and have pretty compacts in your purse.”
She gets plenty of makeup sent her way, thanks to her deal with Guerlain: She’s the face of the brand’s Insolence perfume and its latest, My Insolence.
Naturally, Swank says she dabs on the scent in real life.
“I smell really pretty. I have a lot of perfume, so much that I could bathe in it,” she says with a giggle. “They’ve also supplied me with lots of makeup. It’s so old Hollywood. It’s in beautiful gold containers.”
So, when does boyfriend John Campisi think Swank smells her sexiest?
“I don’t know,” she says. “I’ll have to ask him that question. He does love the scent, so that’s all that matters.”
This month, she’s going on The Oprah Winfrey Show and cutting off her hair as part of Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths campaign, which donates the locks to women who are in cancer treatment.
“That’s going to be wonderful,” says Swank, who says she’s not nervous about her impending transformation. “I’ve been growing my hair for months, so it’s super-long and super-healthy. I’ve gotten my conditioning treatments every four weeks. Everyone is commenting on my hair and how it’s long and pretty and healthy and shiny. All the better for a woman in need.”
Some day, Swank might make like Mariah Carey and launch her own namesake perfume.
“Why not? But right now I’m loving My Insolence, so I’m not ready yet.”
