Academy Award winner Hilary Swank and actors Laura Dern, Elle Fanning and Eddie Redmayne will be among the movie industry luminaries feted at the 37th Mill Valley Film Festival — 11 days of movies, celebrity tributes, spotlight programs, parties and special events running Oct. 2-12.

The schedule of films, including 13 world premieres, five North American premieres and 11 U.S. premieres, was to be detailed at a press conference Tuesday at Dolby Laboratories in San Francisco.

Swank will be on hand for the screening of one of the two opening night movies, “The Homesman,” in which she stars opposite Tommy Lee Jones, who directed the “anti-western,” and Meryl Streep. It’s already generating Oscar buzz.
