He liked it so he put a really, really big emerald ring on it. Of course we’re referring to the rock former tennis pro Ruben Torres used to propose to longtime love Hilary Swank. And we have all the exclusive details on the stunning design.
The precious stone has a special meaning for the couple: Emeralds originate in Colombia where Ruben is from.
The ring is a natural Colombian emerald on a platinum art-deco inspired setting for a vintage feel, which is Hilary’s favorite, according to her rep. The piece was designed exclusively for Ruben and Hilary by Andrea Jaramillo from the Colombian-based jewelry brand Tres Almas. And she proudly wore her new bling in the stands at the BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament in Indian Wells, California, on Sunday.
The couple also stepped out Saturday night post engagement news, where Swank paired her sparkler with a navy and white striped dress by Tory Sport and ankle-strap sandals from the brand.
Swank and Torres have been dating publicly since last summer and she hasn’t been shy about sharing their relationship on social media. In fact, she announced their engagement with a photo on Instagram.
“Went on a hike and this happened! I am so happy to announce the engagement to my dear Ruben,” she captioned the romantic photo.
Now we’ll just have to wait to see if her wedding dress will be as unique as her ring.
