Hilary wants to donate hair

Today Oprah cuts Hilary’s hair. And finally I found new picture of her. What you guys think of it, do you like it?

Two-time Academy Award® winner Hilary Swank brought home the gold for playing tough-girl roles in Million Dollar Baby and Boys Don’t Cry. In real life Hilary says she’s a girly girl at heart. “I like putting my heels on, and my pretty dresses.”

She also loves her long flowing locks—but that’s about to change! For six months, Hilary has been growing and strengthening her hair by taking vitamins and moisturizing—all for a good cause. She is donating her hair to Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths campaign! The program takes donated hair and makes it into wigs for cancer patients. “I’ve had a lot of people in my life, loved ones and friends who have been devastated by cancer,” Hilary says. “I’m really thankful for my health and I wanted to find a way to give back.”

One in three women will be diagnosed with a form of cancer in her lifetime, Hilary says—meaning 700,000 American women will face the diagnosis in just one year. The number one fear of 60 percent of these women is losing their hair as a side effect of the chemotherapy. “Eight percent won’t get their potentially life-saving treatment because they don’t want to lose their hair,” Hilary says. “I thought, ‘Here’s my hair. Cut it off. Save your life!'”

Hilary says she knew exactly who she wanted to make the cut—Oprah! “I’m really honored to be one of the people that’s going to help you, and happy that you wanted to do it here,” Oprah says.

First, Hilary puts her hair into two pigtails using elastic bands. It must measure at least 8 inches long from the top of the elastic band down to the ends.

Once Hilary’s hair is prepped and ready to go, Oprah makes the first snip with the scissors. “You just cut my hair!” Hilary says. “That felt really good.”

Oprah then chops off the second pigtail, and Hilary’s hair is ready to be donated. “To think it’s going to be somebody’s hair!” Oprah says.

After Oprah’s turn as stylist, Hilary is whisked away to have her newly shorn locks shaped into a sassy new ‘do!

“So if this talk show-acting-producing stuff for you doesn’t work out, you have a whole new career in haircutting,” Hilary jokes. “We know you can do everything. But really, now you can cut hair like this?”
