‘Fatale’ Trailer Teaser Sees Hilary Swank & Michael Ealy Caught up in Sexy Shenanigans

Lionsgate has released the trailer teaser for Fatale starring Hilary Swank and Michael Ealy. Swank is poised for a big 2020 already with The Hunt coming in March. Swank is looking to keep the good times going into the summer with Fatale, where she takes on the classic femme fatale role in what looks to be an adult thriller in the style of Fatal Attraction or Obsessed.

The Fatale teaser is brief but previews what looks to be a stylish, sexy movie hearkening back to the “woman from hell” adult thrillers of days gone by. The neon-tinged teaser shows us how one illicit night for Swank and Ealy’s characters move from the dancefloor of a club to the bedroom. Swank’s character looks inviting as she coos, “Come stay and play,” while Ealy looks pretty darn nervous about the night spent with this woman coming back to hurt him. We get an even better idea of the movie thanks to Lionsgate’s helpful synopsis:

“In this suspenseful and provocative psychological thriller, a successful sports agent, Darren (Ealy), watches his perfect life slowly disappear when he becomes entangled in a police investigation led by a discredited, disgraced, and determined detective (Swank) with whom he had a wild one night stand.”

Fatale hits theaters on June 19. For more, check out our most anticipated movies of 2020.

Hilary Swank to reprise PS, I Love You role on screen for sequel Postscript

Hilary Swank will reprise the role of Holly Kennedy in Postscript, the sequel to PS, I Love You.

Author Cecelia Ahern revealed the news that the second book in the series will be adapted for the big screen and once again star the Oscar-winning actress.

Speaking to Ryan Tubridy on RTE Radio 1, the best-selling author revealed that Swank had contacted her directly about returning for the role of Holly Kennedy.

“One of the first people to email me when she heard the news was Hilary Swank,” she said.

“She was so excited, she wanted to read the book and said ”I would love to support you in any way, shape or form’. Then she read the book and she said ”I want to make this movie’.”

PS, I Love You was published in 2004 when Cecelia was just 21 and she sold a million copies. The author has now reached sales of over 25 million in 50 countries and penned 12 books.

Postscript picks up with Holly seven years after the death of her husband Gerry. Speaking to the Sunday Independent recently, Cecelia said it was the hardest book she has ever had to write and was initially reluctant to write it.

“When I got the idea I was like ‘I’m still not going to do it’. But the idea wouldn’t go away,” she said.

“It kept growing and growing, and I heard the sentences in my head. And that’s when I know I need to write it. So I secretly wrote the first chapter to myself. Just to see how it was going to go. And I cried my eyes out. It really touched my soul, I was right back to when I wrote P.S. I Love You. I was right back in there.”

She said the process of writing Postscript was ‘intense’ because it brought her back to the time when she wrote PS, I Love You.

“And I think that was why writing Postscript was doubly so, not just because of the subject matter, but because it was so linked to my experience the first time. It kept bringing me back to who I was and how my life was and how things changed.”

PS, I Love You was adapted for the big screen in 2007 starring Swank and Gerard Butler. It was filmed across locations in Ireland.

Fatale Release Date Set for October 9, 2020

Lionsgate has set the Fatale release date for October 9, 2020 and will distribute the film via its Summit Entertainment label.

Fatale is a mind-bending, taut psychologically provocative thriller starring two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank, Michael Ealy, Mike Colter, Tyrin Turner and directed by Deon Taylor, who most recently helmed the summer sleeper hit The Intruder.

Fatale centers on a married man (Michael Ealy) who finds himself living a nightmare as he is relentlessly compromised, out-witted and morally manipulated by a mysterious woman (two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank) with whom he had a wild one night stand. How far will he go to save his marriage from his mistake?

Written and produced by David Loughery (The Intruder, Lakeview Terrace, Obsessed), the film is produced by Taylor’s Hidden Empire Film Group partner Roxanne Taylor and is executive produced by partner Robert F. Smith. Two-time Oscar nominee Dante Spinotti (L.A. Confidential, Heat) served as director of photography, marking his third collaboration with Taylor on Fatale.

Jason Constantine, Lionsgate’s President of Acquisitions and Co-Productions, said previously: “We previously acquired Deon’s thriller Traffik, and when Damon Wolf came to Lionsgate on the heels of working with Deon, he mentioned we should keep our eye on Fatale. He could not have been more right. We are all big fans of Deon and are thrilled to have him back at Lionsgate. This film has the heat and erotic appeal of relationship-gone-wrong thrillers like Unfaithful, Fatal Attraction or Basic Insinct. Deon Taylor has delivered a morally complex and outstanding character-driven thriller with riveting performances by Hilary Swank and Michael Ealy.”

“Damon and I had the chance to work together on The Intruder, and like a character from this new movie, he became almost obsessed with this project,” Taylor added.” I can feel that energy and passion with the Lionsgate team and I’m excited to be working with Joe, and to be reunited with Damon, Jason and Eda and the whole entire Lionsgate film group.”
