Hilary Swank is all over Armani

Hilary Swank has spoken about why Armani means so much to her.

The Oscar-winning actress was one of many stars who turned out to celebrate the opening of the designer’s Silos exhibition space and museum in Milan yesterday. Hilary attended clad in an asymmetric red and black flowered dress, and she spoke about why she’s such a big fan of the fashion house.

“You know, I actually have so many Armani moments but one of the things in my mind is just Armani as a family because they are so authentic and they stayed true to themselves for all these years, and I think that this Silos — which is opening to the city — is something that people are really gravitating toward,” she told WWD.

Also in attendance was actress Glenn Close, whose history with the label goes way back. In fact, the designer was among the first to offer to dress her when she was first making waves in the industry in the 80s.

“[His was] the first piece of clothing I was ever lent, a beautiful black tunic over pyjama pants. I still remember it, from back when Reagan was president,” she giggled.

Cate Blanchett and Leonardo DiCaprio were also seen sipping drinks to mark the occasion, along with model-and-actress Lauren Hutton. She let slip that big things could be afoot in her career, as she is considering closing her beauty company. While she joked that women come up to “threaten her” whenever she talks about this, it’s just not as fun as she thought it would be.

“What you actually make is only about five per cent [of what you do], the rest is only business, and I’ve never known a thing about it,” she explained.

Giorgio was of course there, and he opened up a little about his plans for Silos. He doesn’t want people to think of it as a museum because the pieces on show there will be updated at least biannually to keep things fresh.
