The judges for the 2009 Samuel Goldwyn Writing Awards Competition are producer Colin Callendar, actress/producer Hilary Swank and CAA story editor Catherine Tarr. The winners will be announced Nov. 2 at UCLA.
The awards were started by Samuel Goldwyn Sr. in 1955 to encourage young film, stage and television writers. They include cash prizes of $15,000 for first prize, $7,500 for second prize and $4,000 for third prize as well as $2,000 and $1,000 honorable mentions.
