Five finalists for the 2009 Samuel Goldwyn Writing Awards have been chosen.
They are Jennifer Barclay of UCSD for her screenplay “Prank,” and four UCLA students: Rob Kotecki, for his screenplay “Blowback”; Eli Mael, “Oaktown”; Bradford Schmidt, “Landsailor”; and Joseph Tremba, “The Shoeshine Girl.”
The winners will be selected by a jury consisting of producer Colin Callender, actress/producer Hilary Swank and CAA story editor Catherine Tarr.
The awards will be presented on Nov. 2 at UCLA.
