The biggest annual film festival in Japan that showcases movies from many corners of the world.

Stars from Asia and beyond are set to gather in Japan’s largest city at the 28th edition of the annual Tokyo International Film Festival.

The TIFF 2015 will take place from Oct. 22 to 31 at Roppongi Hills, Shinjuku Wald 9, Shinjuku Piccadilly, TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku and other theaters in Tokyo.

More than 200 films will be screened and there will be daily film-related exciting events at the festival venues with stage appearance, Q & A session and symposium by celebrated guests from all over the world.

Among the international guests attending the 10-day celebration are Robert Zemeckis (director, The Walk), Anton Corbijn (director, LIFE), Baltasar Kormakur (director, Everest), Hilary Swank (actress, You’re Not You), Jacques Perrin & Jacques Cluzaud (director, Seasons) and Simon Curtis & Helen Mirren (director & actress from Woman In Gold). Several big names from Asia are also expected to join the crowd.

For the competition section, 16 films were selected from a total of 1,409 titles from 86 countries and regions. At this main section, seven films are from Asia: Japan, China, Iran, Thailand and Turkey. Japan is represented by three films with directors are from different generations.
