Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank was in Memphis Saturday to help the families of children being treated at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital.

Swank was the special guest for the FedEx Family House Home is Where the Heart Is Gala.

Saturday, Swank visited with families of sick children and toured the 24-suite home that accommodates families who travel to LeBonheur for treatment.

Swank was joined by movie producer Molly Smith, who is also the daughter of FedEx founder Fred Smith.

“Having a FedEx House like this for families to go to, to be able to cook a home-cooked meal for their child, you know, that’s all part of the healing experience,” said Swank. “It’s really extraordinary and it would be nice if there were more places like this around the United States and around the world.”

The Home is Where the Heart Is Gala raises more than $900,000 a year for the FedEx Family House, which was built by FedEx Corporation.
