In the first winner announcement from The Irish Film and Television Awards, double Oscar winner Hilary Swank has won this year’s Pantene Best International Actress Award for her performance in ‘PS I Love You’.
The Awards ceremony will be held at The Gaiety theatre Dublin on Sunday, February 17. The ceremony will be broadcast as live on RTÉ One that evening at 9.30pm.
Commenting on this development, Aine Moriarty, CEO of The Irish Film & Television Awards, said: “I am delighted that such a talented actress has been chosen as the winner of this year’s Pantene Best International Actress Award. Her performances are always compelling and we look forward to her future body of work.”
The Pantene Best International Actress Award is one of four People’s Choice Categories voted for by the general public, celebrating the outstanding female talent in the film industry today. The other nominees this year were Cate Blanchett (Elizabeth:The Golden Age), Jodie Foster (The Brave One) and Keira Knightley (Atonement)
Members of the public voted online for their favourite actress until Monday, January 28 when the results were subsequently collated.
