IFTA nominees

Cate Blanchett, Jodie Foster, Keira Knightley and Hilary Swank are amongst the nominees for the Best International Actress at the 5th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards.

Neil Jordan’s ‘The Brave One’ has earned Jodie Foster a nomination while Hilary Swank completes the nominees with her performance in Cecelia Ahern’s ‘P.S. I Love You’.

Blanchett has been nominated for her performance in ‘Elizabeth: The Golden Age’ while Knightly has got the nod for her role in ‘Atonement’.

The category is one of only three that will be voted for by Irish audiences with the winner set to be announced at the Awards ceremony, which takes place in Dublin on Sunday 17 February. The Awards ceremony will be broadcast live on RTÉ One that evening at 9.30pm.

Voting for Best International Actress is open until midnight on Monday 28 January and the public can vote by logging onto www.ifta.ie/peopleschoice.

The Academy announcements of all of the Irish industry nominees across film and television will be made next week.
